Wow, I feel a bit ashamed to say it but I don't think I've read the other(s) cover to cover either. The Ellman one is good, although in some ways the way he talks about Wilde's sexuality just seems outdated (not unsympathetic but outdated). Then again I think the book was published in 1988 and Ellman had been working on it since like 20 years before, which means 60s and 70s, so ways of talking about things have changed considerably since then. In some respects, also, his chapters on The Picture of Dorian Gray pissed me off because I felt like Ellman was veering too much into dictating how I should interpret that, when I/one could make somewhat different arguments. That proved to be a pet peeve of mine, but otherwise it was great.
