Yeah, I was told by acquaintances to specifically avoid the US remake, as the UK one was vastly better - but I'm kinda hankering for more of these shows and may try some of the American one anyway.

Ugh, discovering stuff with great soundtracks is the best. And then it can even help you discover or rediscover artists you might not have really gotten into before, or whatever; I love it. Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous is actually one of my favourite films for that reason among others, and I've got a friend who's been reminding me to check out more of his stuff...
